Consider furniture, clothing and electronics, plus any valuables needing special attention. Compare replacement cost coverage with settlement that deducts for age and wear.
Review the liability limit for covered injury or property damage claims. Tell us about pets, guests and rental use so the quote reflects how you use your condo.
Ask about sudden leaks, water damage limits, water backup and hurricane deductibles. A pipe leak and rising floodwater are different coverage questions.
If a covered loss makes the unit uninhabitable, additional living expense coverage may help with extra accommodation costs. Review both the limit and the covered circumstances.
Review protection for your share of certain association assessments after a covered property loss. Ask about the limit, deductible and treatment of an assessment for the master policy’s deductible.
A condo unit policy, often called HO-6, and the association’s master policy have different jobs. “Walls in” is a useful starting phrase, but it does not tell you exactly which fixtures or finishes are insured.
Ask your association for its current insurance declarations and insurance-responsibility documents. Compare those with your unit policy, including any renovations made by you or a previous owner.
A useful question: “If a covered loss damages my kitchen, which policy responds to the cabinets, flooring and improvements—and which deductible applies?”

Do not assume every assessment is insured. Ask how your policy treats damage to shared property and an association deductible passed on to owners. Routine maintenance, reserve funding and building upgrades are different from a covered insurance loss.
Confirm your unit’s wind coverage and hurricane deductible. An association’s policy is not a substitute for checking your own limits.
Review flood insurance alongside the condo quote. Ask what the association’s flood policy covers, whether your belongings are insured, and whether individual unit coverage is needed.
Be ready to discuss the address, unit size, building details, interior updates, prior claims and whether this is your main home, seasonal home or a rental.
Compare quotes using the same interior and belongings limits, liability limit, deductibles and loss assessment options. A lower premium can come with a different amount to pay after a loss.

Tell us when the unit is occupied, how long it is left unoccupied and whether anyone else uses it. Those details help us seek coverage suited to a seasonal home.
Disclose the rental arrangement, including short stays, before you buy. An owner-occupied policy may not fit the use. We can discuss the appropriate options and landlord insurance where relevant.
The purchase price is not a direct measure of your insurance needs. Review the cost to replace the interior items you are responsible for and your belongings, alongside the association’s coverage.
Include the closing date and lender’s insurance instructions with your request. We will help identify the information needed; coverage is effective only when it has been confirmed.
Yes. Ask us to compare your auto insurance alongside the condo quote. Any package discount depends on the insurer and eligibility.

Coverage, availability and eligibility depend on the insurer and policy. A quote request does not bind coverage; confirm your effective date and policy terms with our team.
